Thinking of shifting down a career gear

14 Mar 2019 / Law Society Print

Are you thinking about life  after the law?

If retirement or working less is on your mind, then Support Services at the Law Society of Ireland has organised an information event.

This seminar is geared towards solicitors who are looking at winding down their careers or thinking of retiring.

Expert speakers will talk through the wide array of choices that are open to solicitors who want to work less, or not at all.

Encore career

Matters that will be addressed include:

  • Implications of dramatically extended life expectancy,
  •
The choice between traditional retirement and alternatives,
  •
The ‘encore career’ social trend, and what’s involved,

  • Portfolio careers,

  • Seizing the opportunity to do what you have always dreamed about doing,
  •
The option to ‘un-retire’.

This event will be packed with useful information and is entirely geared towards the profession – and reserved for solicitors.

It takes place on Wednesday, 3 April, from 2pm-5pm at the Green Hall in Blackhall Place, Dublin.

Places are limited and need to be reserved in advance.

A distance option will also be available for solicitors who are living outside Dublin and unable to attend in person.

Members may attend free of charge.
A €110 charge applies for non-members.

Anyone who attends is welcome to invite their spouse or partner if they wish.

To reserve your place, email Shane Farrell at s.farrell@lawsociety.ie.
