SLA elects Richard Hammond as president

Law Society council member Richard Hammond has been elected president of the Southern Law Association (SLA) at the association’s AGM in Cork.

Outgoing president Joan Byrne, a senior associate at O’Flynn Exhams, presented the SLA chain of office at the meeting.

Richard is a partner at Hammond Good Solicitors in Mallow.

Newly-installed Law Society president Patrick Dorgan, also from Cork, as well as Law Society director general Ken Murphywere also in attendance.

Honoured

Richard said that he was honoured to be entrusted with the office of president.

He said he hoped the SLA would continue in the year ahead to foster collegiality and promote the positive role that the legal profession plays in Irish society.
