Senior counsel named for High Court

Senior counsel John Jordan and Alexander Owens are to be appointed to the High Court on advisement of a candidate list from the Judicial Appointments Advisory Board.

The vacancies arise following the appointment of Ms Justice Caroline Costello and Ms Justice Isobel Kennedy to the Court of Appeal in November.

Inner Bar

Senior counsel John Jordan was educated at University College Dublin and the King's Inn. He was called to the Bar in 1985 and to the Inner Bar in 2011.

His practice has ranged across criminal, property, contract, probate, personal injury, defamation, licensing, professional negligence and landlord and tenant law. 

Senior counsel Alexander Owens was educated Trinity College Dublin and the King’s Inns 
He was called to the Bar in 1980 and to the Inner Bar in 2000.

He is experienced in criminal law, and local government, chancery and conveyancing.
