Heavy-hitting speakers to probe mediation law

Mr Justice Paul Gilligan will chair a Law Society conference for litigators with an interest in mediation in the spring.

Law Society Professional Training and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee is hosting an afternoon conference at the Green Hall in Blackhall Place on 28 March at 4pm.

Distinguished speakers include President of the High Court Mr Justice Peter Kelly, Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman Ger Deering (pictured above), McCann FitzGerald partner Helen Kilroy, practising mediator Andy Rogers and Diana Wallis, a Senior Fellow at the University of Hull.

The seminar will qualify for 2.5 CPD points and the discounted fee is €150.

Integrated

The seminar will examine how the Mediation Act has integrated the mediation process into the civil justice system, and whether the legislation marks a step change in litigation practice.
