Game of Thrones law firm crowned at Legal 500

Leading Belfast full-service law firm Millar McCall Wylie was awarded ‘Northern Ireland Law Firm of the Year’ at the prestigious Legal 500 awards ceremony in the Guildhall, London, yesterday.

Double-digit growth

The firm is 21 years in business and has experienced significant double-digit growth in recent years, representing brands such as Microsoft, Starbucks, Amazon and Subway, as well as local clients Northern Ireland Screen, Ulster Rugby and McAleer & Rushe.

The corporate team alone has increased revenue by 100% in three years. 

The firm also advised and acted on the global TV smash hit Game of Thronesand Line of Duty, among a suite of projects for Netflix, HBO, ESPN, and BBC. 

Retention rate

The firm has an employee retention rate of 95% across its two offices in Belfast, and plans to grow its team to 36 (up 20%) during 2019. 

Last year, Millar McCall Wylie advised on the Stg £70-million financing of the 227,000 square-foot Merchant Square office development in Belfast city centre. 

Wind farms

It also handled the sale of wind farms to the tune of £60 million.
