State Claims Agency lawyer moves to private practice

Cork law firm Comyn Kelleher Tobin has appointed Cliona Kenny to its litigation and healthcare departments. She joins from the State Claims Agency, where she managed a mixed portfolio of medical negligence and inquest files on behalf of several public hospitals, and the clinical staff covered under the clinical indemnity scheme.

Cliona has worked on breach of contract cases, road traffic accidents, workplace accidents, professional negligence actions (plaintiff and defence), regulatory matters and employment law cases. She is also a CEDR-accredited mediator.

Managing partner Debbie Moore said: “Cliona has a deep understanding of the legal issues that arise for healthcare clients, as well as the knowledge of the real challenges faced by health providers, hospitals, and clinicians.

Her extensive experience appearing before the courts dealing with complex litigation will be a great asset to our specialist areas of healthcare, insurance and litigation.”

Cliona holds a BA in Law and European Studies from the University of Limerick (UL), is a member of the Southern Law Association and volunteers with Free Legal Advice Centres.
