Who can apply

The Certificate of Eligibility application form is for use by the following qualified lawyers who wish to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility to take the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test:

1. Admitted as an attorney in New York (with one year post qualification experience ‘PQE’ in New York)
2. Admitted as an attorney in California 
3. Admitted as an attorney in Pennsylvania (with five years ‘PQE’ in Pennsylvania)
4. Admitted as a solicitor in NSW (and other Australian States – provided an applicant is eligible to practice in NSW).
5. Admitted as a solicitor in New Zealand
6. Admitted as a solicitor in Scotland
7. Admitted as a lawyer in an EFTA member state ie Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland
8. Admitted as a lawyer in a EU member state ie Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.

Certificate of Eligibility applications are accepted throughout the year. Click on the links below for the form which includes important information and supporting documentation you need to supply as part of your application.
