Applications from suitably qualified professionals are invited for three state board appointments.

Appointments to the Board of the Medical Council

The Minister for Health invites applications from candidates with experience in:

  • Business and corporate governance
  • Regulation / advocacy / patient safety / training and education
  • Law / complaint handling.

Persons appointed must not be and never have been a medical practitioner in the State or in another jurisdiction. The closing date for expressions of interest is 20 April 2018. For more information, visit the State Boards website.

Appointments to the Board of Sport Ireland

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport invites expressions of interest from candidates with experience and competence in relation to financial matters and:

  • Extensive professional experience at an appropriately senior level in the area of accountancy, audit and/or corporate finance, and
  • Experience as a member of an Audit Committee or of having directly reported to or worked with an Audit Committee, and/or
  • Proven experience of management/operation of financial systems and the design of business information systems.

Appointment as Chairperson to the Board of the Health Information and Quality Authority

The Minister for Health invites applications from suitably qualified candidates with significant experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Membership of a Board of a statutory agency or a private company or body of comparable size and complexity.
  • Corporate governance and compliance within the public sector.
  • Corporate and business management.

In addition, candidates should ideally have relevant knowledge/experience of health and social services, and healthcare management.
