The Diploma Centre welcomes applications for the Diploma in Insolvency Law and Corporate Restructuring,starting on 6 October 2021 Areas covered will include insolvency and corporate restructuring, liquidation, examinership, receivership and bankruptcy.

Offered as part of the Diploma Centre’s autumn 2021 course programme, and delivered over four modules, this course is open to Solicitors and trainees who are seeking to expand their knowledge in the area, barristers who practice in the area of insolvency and debt recovery, and other suitably-qualified professionals working in the area who wish to expand their knowledge and practical application of corporate recovery.

Couse structure

  • Module 1: Introduction to insolvency and corporate restructuring
  • Module 2: Liquidation, examinership and receivership
  • Module 3: Restructuring, debt recovery, enforcement & mediation 
  • Module 4: Bankruptcy and personal insolvency

This diploma course aims to provide a comprehensive practical overview of the current legislative framework in Ireland regarding insolvency and corporate restructuring, from an analysis of basic concepts of debt restructuring to a consideration of more complex issues, such as financing considerations that may arise during the corporate restructuring process. The course will also delve into the effects of insolvency on companies in Ireland. It will examine in detail the obligations on the directors and the options for the company from initiating the corporate restructuring, to court procedures, to the enforcement of judgments.

The final module of the course will provide a practical knowledge of the practice and procedure of personal insolvency in Ireland including bankruptcy.
