The LLM in International Financial Services Law is a 90 credit Masters programme which will be awarded at Level 9 of the National Framework of Qualifications. The programme starts in September 2018.
Graduates of the Diploma in International Financial Services Law
Graduates of the Diploma in International Financial Services Law (which is run jointly by UCD Sutherland School of Law and Law Society Finuas Skillnet) are eligible to apply for a place on this LLM and will be recognised as having completed 30 of the required 90 ECT credits at entry. Teaching on the Programme will take place at the Sutherland School of Law, supported online by UCD’s virtual learning environment.
Qualifying students* entering the LLM will be required to complete 3 taught graduate modules from the lists below ie from the modules in Part 1 and Part 2. Other Post-Graduate Qualifications
Students with other post-graduate qualifications may also be eligible subject to determination by UCD. Please submit a CV and a covering letter to FinuasSkillnet@lawsociety.ie
Upon completion of their taught module requirements, students will undertake an independent research project. The project, which will normally be completed over the course of the summer semester (May-August), will require students to prepare a written output of 12,000 - 13,000 words under the supervision of a member of the academic staff. The project may, at the student’s option, take the form of a traditional academic dissertation or an equivalent workplace project. Students will be offered training in research and writing as well as personalised academic supervision whilst completing this module.
