Mike Barton, Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary, will deliver a public lecture at Maynooth University.

Event information

Mr. Barton served in Lancashire Constabulary for 28 years before joining Durham in 2008 as Assistant Chief Constable and being promoted to Chief Constable in 2012. He has worked to develop the use of restorative justice, problem-oriented policing, victim-focused policing practices, integrated offender management and public health approaches to drug policing and drug law reform.

In his lecture, Mr. Barton will speak about these and other approaches which he believes to be central to a progressive, 21st century policing agenda
