William Egan and Associates are currently seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join small legal firm.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Dictaphone typing/transcribing;
- Liaising with clients;
- Control of correspondence;
- Preparation of documents including preparing briefs/booklets for counsel and other experts;
- Preparation of vouching;
- Support to principal partner;
- Maintaining solicitor’s diary and follow up reminders;
- Maintaining client files to a good standard to include opening and closing of files;
- Dealing with telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner;
- Responding to all communication and queries as they arise;
- Providing general office support as needed.
Requirements:
- 2 + years’ experience in a similar role;
- Typing speed of 60 wpm minimum;
- Strong IT and system skills;
- Experience using a case management system;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong work ethic and professional demeanour;
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines;
- High level of attention to detail in reviewing documents and correspondence;
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also being proactive and self-motivated
