Compensation Fund
The "Guide to Claiming Refunds of Money paid to a Solicitor" explains how and when you can claim compensation from the Law Society’s Compensation Fund. You can make a claim if your solicitor was dishonest and you lost money that you gave them or that that they received on your behalf. The guide also explains how to claim a refund of your money from a solicitor’s firm where the courts or the Law Society now controls the money.
If you wish to claim on the Compensation Fund, or claim a refund of money now in the control of the courts or the Law Society, you must download and complete the Claim Form.
