The Calcutta Run, the legal profession’s annual fundraiser, aims to raise €200,000 this year for the Peter McVerry Trust and GOAL.

The Calcutta Run, which takes place on Saturday 16 May, was set up by the legal profession 17 years ago to help battle homelessness both in Ireland and in Calcutta. It is organised and supported by The Law Society of Ireland as well as solicitors and legal firms nationwide. To date the Calcutta Run has raised over €3 million, with 100% of the funds raised by participants going directly towards the Peter McVerry Trust and Goal.

President of the Law Society Kevin O’Higgins said, “We are very proud to be part of the Calcutta Run. This is a time when the legal profession can unite to make a real difference alleviating homelessness in Ireland and India.”
