Information for landlords and tenants

• The Landlord and Tenants Acts 1967 – 1994 and the Residential Tenancies Act 2004 contain the relevant legislative provisions applicable to both landlords and tenants.
• A summary of rights and obligations is provided by the Citizens Information Board.
• You should also refer to the website of the Private Residential Tenancies Board.

Noisy neighbours

If your neighbourhood is excessively noisy during unsociable hours, you may be able to bring a complaint to the District Court. The maximum fine for conviction on breach of noise regulations is €3,000 or 12 months in prison, or both.
